Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT)

The Emotional Freedom Technique, or EFT, is a psychological acupressure technique that I teach and use with individual clients to optimize your emotional health.

What is Emotional Freedom Technique?

EFT is based on the principle that the cause of all negative emotions is a disruption in the body’s energy system. Those repressed and unexpressed emotions find a way out through physical aches, pains, and diseases in the body. An energy flow is believed to be affected by those imbalances within the body.

Treatment Sessions

This technique can relieve you from many problems of emotional nature. These can include:

  • Phobias/Irrational fears
(fear of heights, insects, snakes, public speaking, etc)
  • Trauma
  • Back aches
  • Daily headaches
  • High stress
  • Physical pains
  • Insomnia
  • Anxiety attacks
  • Asthma

Lasting results can be achieved with only one treatment session. You can follow the best diet and have a healthy lifestyle, but it is essential that you look to your emotional health as it relates to your physical health and healing on all levels.

EFT is a psychological approach to human body imbalance which can have deep repercussions on an individual’s psyche. It is supported by the electrical impulses of the
body, the kind of energy commonly referred to as Chi, Ki or Mana, depending on the culture. Electrical messages are constantly transmitted to the brain as impulses to relay all information coming from the body.

How EFT Works: An Emotional Freedom Technique Review

Simple light tapping with the tip of the fingers on certain meridians of the body can help attain a sense of relief after only a few minutes. At other times, perseverance is a must. The tapping is thought to provoke deep emotional changes because the ultimate cause of all negative emotion is a block or disorder in the body’s energy system.
Repeated negative thoughts are seen as creating a disorder in the energy flow.

The client takes an active part in the treatment by focusing on the problem or the original event, then evaluating his SUDS (Subjective Units of Disturbance Scale) level from 0-10.

A score of 0 represents no stress or pain at all and 10 is the opposite. Most people will fall somewhere in between that range. The client will learn to do the sequence himself in order to become self reliant. Once rebalanced, the person should not be disturbed again by the same traumatic event, except if there is some aspect that has not been neutralized. Ideally, even though the person may try to get upset again, it usually won’t come to be since the memory of the event stays but the emotional charge which caused the pain will be gone.

What are the benefits of EFT

Men and women can benefit from this natural technique. It has the advantage of not requiring surgery, needles, pills, medication, or stretching and pulling on the body.

  • EFT has yielded positive results where other approaches have failed
  • EFT works more rapidly, without pain, and lasts longer, than other methods
  • EFT can be learned by anyone
  • EFT can be applied on oneself without any adverse effect
  • EFT is a very simple technique

EFT Training Workshops

To learn the technique on a deeper level, I teach it in a workshop in a day with lots of practical examples and demo. Those workshops can be personalised to fit any particular situation and even in the corporate field where stress frequently quite high. This type of emotional freedom therapy is worth a try.
